ENGINEERS,

11..

Applicants for appointments as Engineers

in the Colonial Service are normally required tɔ provide

proof of good practical engineering experience after passing

the necessary professional examinations for a perica of at

least two years; but preference is given to candidates who

can show three or four years practical experience, ana

it is considered that in these circumstances it would be

appropriate and in the interests of efficiency generally

that the initial rate of salary offered to Engineers should

slightly above the initial rate of the standaru scale.

It is, therefore, proposed that the scale for Engineers

should start at 3450 a year. In other respects the scule

proposed follows the standard.
